Pentecostal Church of Järvenpää

Faith and Doctrines

Principles of faith and doctrines of Järvenpää Pentecostal Church:

1. The Bible
The Holy Bible is the Word of God, which is born and inspired by the Holy Spirit, and it is the only foundation of our doctrine.

2. God
There is only one, eternal God in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. God is the creator of heaven and earth.

3. Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the only-begotten Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born as a human out of virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life teaching and performing miracles. In His essence, real God and real man are combined simultaneously. Though his crucifixion, Jesus reconciled with God the sin of the world, resurrected from the death, and ascended up to heaven onto the throne at the right side of the Father.

4. Ministry of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit revives a human spiritually in order that one can receive the salvation prepared by God, and simultaneously the Holy Spirit enters and begins to reside in a human. Jesus Christ baptizes a believer with the Holy Spirit, He provides charismatic gifts for the edification of church similarly as during the apostolic era. A believer is purposed to live in the fulness of the Holy Spirit bearing the fruit of the Spirt.

5. Man, Fall, and Salvation
God created man as His image and into His fellowship, but as a result of the fall man was separated from God. Man is forgiven of sins by believing in Jesus, and is given righteousness as a gift, and is regenerated into the childhood of God.

6. Baptism
Baptism established by Jesus is connected to the saving act of God. Baptism is conducted to a believer in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit out of the commandment of Jesus Christ. A baptized person is joined into the fellowship of a local church.

7. Church
Church is a community of believers, which is established and led by Christ, and build onto the apostolic teaching. All Believers of all ages everywhere belong to the same common church, which is manifested visibly in various locations as a local church. Jesus Christ commanded His church to preach the good news and make disciples from all nations. After that He commanded to baptize them and to teach them to keep everything Jesus had taught. Church comprises a holy priesthood, whose mission is to serve the Lord and express Christian love towards all people.

8. Holy Communion
Holy Communion is a meal of remembrance and unity established by Jesus to His followers. Holy Communion proclaims the Jesus’ reconciliation and participation in His death and resurrection. According to the pattern of the early church and the Bible, Holy Communion was participated only by believers baptized after becoming Christians.

9. Death, Resurrection and Eternal Life
All people experience a bodily resurrection. The ones believing in Jesus are risen in the resurrection of life into eternal life in heaven, where as the ones who don’t believe are risen in the resurrection of condemnation into the eternal life in perdition.

John 3:16-18
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Mark 16:16
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
